Noshene Ranjbar, MD

Dr. Ranjbar is Assistant Professor and DIrector of Integrative Medicine in Residency-Psychiatry at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She is Medical Director for the Integrative Psychiatry Clinic at Banner-UA Tucson, as well as Training Director of the Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship Program and Division Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She also serves on faculty with The Center for Mind-Body Medicine and the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
She started her training in Family Medicine at Middlesex Hospital in Connecticut, followed by research involvement at Yale Department of Internal Medicine in area of stroke, sleep apnea, and neuroplasticity. She went on to complete General Psychiatry residency training at University of Arizona, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training at Boston Children's Hospital, Certification with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, and fellowship at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and working and learning over the past few years from Native American, Sufi and other ancient spiritual traditions, as well as research in brain neuroplasticity at Yale, she has a keen career interest in uncovering and exploring the interplay of ancient wisdom and modern science. She explores neurodevelopment from the womb into the life of community/society, the profound effects of intergenerational trauma and lifestyle factors, and the unlimited healing potential of the individual, group, family and community.
