Covid-19: Integrative Perspectives

Prior to 2020, a module dealing with potential pandemics would have been historical and hypothetical, and likely ignored. A lot can change in a short time. New Covid research emerges daily, if not weekly, and global infection data is readily available to anyone with internet access. Now, interest is focused upon options for post-viral syndromes, aka "Long Covid" symptoms, that are seen in 50% or more of convalescent cases.

Educational Purpose

Participants will gain an understanding of the pandemic with a global perspective, and to consider Integrative Medicine approaches to the disease and its sequelae.

Course Objectives

  • Describe the general properties of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
  • Identify key steps in the pathophysiology of Covid infection.
  • Recognize possible integrative medicine approaches applicable to COVID "long hauler" symptoms.
  • Recommend Integrative Medicine prophylactic interventions for Covid.
  • Describe the available vaccinations for Covid infection and their site of action.

Completion Requirements

Complete all the course work, course evaluation, and the final test with a score of 70% or better. Upon successful completion you will be able to print your certificate of completion.

Target Audience

This online enduring material educational program is designed for physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, and physician assistants and other health care providers who have an interest in the prevention and treatment of Covid-19.
